This is a very interesting painting and can be compared to Van Gogh's starry night in Anton's own surreal composition. In the background you have the thick Strokes and flamboyant looking stars and planets such as in Van Gogh's work but in the Forefront you have something completely different. This painting shows many of the things an ordinary individual would love to own and possess. You can see a large mansion which shows the desire of many individuals, this is also expressed with the woman having a necklace with a large flamboyant ruby hanging from it and a creature standing in the background with many keys floating in space showing that he has many possessions under lock and key. What Anton makes clear is that in the Forefront of the painting with a plate with some sparsely spread edibles shows what is truly needed for the ordinary man who is content.
