Three Graces
This painting is completely based upon Greek mythology and shows the demise of mankind. According to Anton, in Greek mythology there were three female goddesses who were destined to determine the outcome of man. In determining the outcome of man they would draw cards and when certain cards were revealed the destiny of Man became a reality. In this painting the cards have been drawn and the destiny of Man has ended. You see the three goddesses floating on a large chunk of Earth and around them are items floating in space and other chunks of Earth. The world has been destroyed and that is all that is left. In the Earth you see the faces of human beings which Anton has done a masterful job recreating over and over simply to show that the miles of mantle of the Earth's crust is nothing but dead things and people. This is a very detailed and masterful painting, one of our favorites!
